May Maker's Fair

Showcasing a wide range of beautiful art and craft to buy, this event celebrates the talents of our students, tutors and volunteers. Children's activities, live music and entertainment, refreshments and free parking available throughout the day. All proceeds contribute to the Arts Centre's ongoing fundraising campaign.

Patchwork Betty Style-from Traditional to Crazy with Betty Brown

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Betty will show you basic techniques for making patchwork. In the morning you will make a sample block using regular shapes like squares or triangles, and in the afternoon, Betty will show you how to make patchwork using irregular shapes. Both are really nice ways of using scraps of fabric that are too small for a bigger project and for this workshop Betty will provide all the materials. Book by: 5 May '18

Tambour Beading: Haute Couture Embroidery Beginner

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
The Tambour Beading class is pitched towards a beginner. The first part of the class will be to learn the chainstitch on a transparent organza with the hook in the four directions.
The second part of the class will be the introduction of the buggles and seed beads. Finally you will learn how to stitch the sequins « en riviere » basic stitching for the sequins. Book by: 10 May '18

Ceramics in Charnwood

Come and meet over 65 potters and ceramic artists from the East Midlands and beyond, selling their work in Loughborough Market Place.
Tutor Jo Keogh will be giving throwing sessions on the potters wheel, and ceramic artist Kate McBride will be running a workshop making 'Mud Hares'.
Plates specially made by the potters will be sold (with Cake!) in aid of cancer charities.
